Officials Find No Human Remains At Douglas County Home

The search for human remains at a home in Douglas County has concluded, with no evidence found. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant and searched a residential property on Centerville Lane in Gardnerville Tuesday. The search was initiated by a cold case investigation, and new information received from an informant. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Investigation Division used cadaver dogs and ground radar, but found nothing. The Gardnerville home was once owned by Kenneth Pestana, who was killed in 2017 in Grass Valley, California by Joseph Ward. Ward was convicted of second-degree murder in California in July 2018.
