Truckee Meadows Fire is fighting a fire in the Washoe Valley area on the south end of Washoe Lake. It’s been named the Berry Fire. It’s burning near the intersection of I-580 and Old 395, and started about 3PM. Old 395 is closed between Bellevue and Eastlake. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says evacuations are underway from High Camp Court off Franktown to Old 395 and east to List Country Road. The evac center is Galena High School’s small gym.
The fire  burned about eight acres by 5pm Friday. There is a land and air attack on the blaze.
