“Hot Prowler” Arrested in Reno

Reno Police have arrested a suspect in a “hot prowl” near downtown Reno. The investigation started after a man entered a home in the 800 block of E. 2nd Street about midnight Monday. The female resident awoke to the man standing in her kitchen, looking at her and her husband. Her husband awoke and chased the man from their home, and the man got away. Nothing was reported stolen. Police say about an hour later, the same man broke into another home in the 1200 block of Mill Street. He pointed a silver revolver at the victim and stole her cell phone and a debit card. He also ordered the victim to kiss him before he left. Police tracked down 35-year-old Cuahutemoc Lopez, who was still had the gun and victim’s cell phone, and arrested him.
