Local Woman is National Foster Parent of the Year

Washoe County had a good year when it comes to getting kids in the system adopted into forever families, or in caring foster homes. Amber Howell, Director of the County Human Services Agency had the honor of announcing that a local woman has been named Best Foster Parent in the United States. Yvette Clark is the honoree, she says any of the foster parents she knows also deserve this award. Clark thanked her family for their support calling them her “backbone.” Washoe County set an adoption record already this year, with 147 kids placed in homes, more than all of 2017.
