Evacuations Near The Site of a Wildfire in Emigrant Gap, California

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is working with Cal Fire battling a wildfire that started in Emigrant Gap, California. Evacuations were conducted at North Fork campground, Onion Valley Campground, and Tunnel Mills Campground. Lake Valley Reservoir area was also being evacuated Monday. The North Fire has burned around 650 acres, and there is no current estimate for containment. According to The Truckee Fire Department, the North Fire is not threatening Truckee or Donner Summit. California officials urge you to stay away from I-80 near Emigrant Gap due to heavy traffic caused by emergency personnel.
