Construction for the Virginia Street Bus RAPID Transit Extension Project is underway in Midtown. There will be road closures and detours. Southbound traffic will be maintained on South Virginia Street, northbound traffic past Wells will be closed. People are encouraged to take side streets to get to Midtown. Lauren Ball says RTC’s aware business owners are worried about how construction will affect their business.

The purpose of the $80 million project is to improve the way Midtown looks, replace aging infrastructure and improve transit. Construction is expected to last until 2020.
