Man Who Punched Casino Employee Convicted of Murder

A man who lost a bet, tried to grab his chips, and punched a Reno casino shift manager in the face as he tried to flee, has been convicted of first degree murder. The punch killed 52 year old James Bryant. The case against 65 year old Frederick Borden dates to September 2016. The Washoe County D.A.’s office argued for first degree murder, based on the fact that Borden killed Bryant while committing a felony. Borden has a long criminal record and this case included an unrelated theft from a casino resulting in a grand larceny conviction.
