Fire crews knocked down a brush fire in a ravine between Robb Drive and Sharlands Avenue in west Reno, it burned about four acres of sagebrush and cheatgrass. No structures were damaged and there were no injuries to firefighters or residents, though the Sharlands Terrace Apartments and the Silver Creek complex were threatened. A single westbound lane on I-80 was closed for about two hours. Three brush engines, three structure engines, one Battalion Chief and one Safety Officer responded. There is no word yet on a cause, but a Reno Fire battalion chief says two people were reportedly seen running from the area right after the fire started. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Reno Fire.
