Community Health Alliance is collecting socks for the homeless during October. They’re calling it “Socktober,” and their goal is to get at least 1,500 pairs of new, adult sized socks by the end of the month. The socks will be distributed once all the socks have been donated. Some of the locations you can bring socks include The Roost Coffee on Booth Street, SportsClips at the Outlets at Legends, and Famous Footwear in Reno and Sparks. Famous Footwear is also offering a discount sock sale. Buy-one get-one 50% off for the month of October, so you can keep one pair for yourself, and donate the other one.
