Reno Police have identified the 72-year-old man who was hit and killed while walking near UNR on North Virginia. Eugene Bowman of Bishop, California was pronounced dead at the scene. Reno Police Lt. William Rulla reports the man was walking outside the crosswalk on North Virginia when a large white box truck hit Bowman. That driver stayed on scene to talk to police. Police don’t believe the driver was speeding or impaired. Some witness accounts indicate the man was then hit by a second driver who left the scene, but according to police, they are still working to confirm that.
