Geno Martini Gives Final State of the City Speech Thursday

Mayor Geno Martini is slated to deliver his final State of the City-Farewell address Thursday at 10 am in the Sparks Legislative Building. Mayor Martini called it a bittersweet time adding, “I love this city and being Mayor for the past 13 and a half years has been the best job of my life. I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything else.” The North Truckee Drain Realignment, Victorian Square downtown redevelopment, Sparks Marina, Legends Mall, Golden Eagle Regional Park and the Pyramid McCarran Intersection are just a few of the important projects completed during Mayor Martini’s tenure. Mayor Martini will officially leave office on November 13 during the Spark City Council meeting when Mayor-Elect Ron Smith is officially sworn in. Martini expressed confidence in Smith saying  he will do a super job leading the City into the future.
