Women in Nevada currently make 83 cents on the dollar compared to men, according to American Association of University Women’s annual Gender Pay Gap report. That’s a pay ratio of 83.36 percent. Our state ranks 11th nationally in gender pay equity, based on full-time working women compared to white men for comparable work. Data also shows that the pay gap varies across the country, with the largest gap in earnings in Louisiana. Women there are only paid 69 cents on the dollar. The most favorable state for working women is in California, where women are paid 89 cents on the dollar. The jobs with the biggest pay gaps are Financial managers, doctors and surgeons, Accountants and auditors, First-line supervisors in retail sales, and Registered nurses.
