The President Signs Eight Pieces of Opioid Legislation Co-Sponsored by Nevada’s Senators

President Trump signed eight pieces of legislation co-authored by U.S. Senator Dean Heller that will help fight Nevada’s opioid crisis. Of the eight, the Informing Seniors about Opioids Act orders an update to the “Medicare and You” handbook so it includes information about opioid use, pain management, and alternative pain management treatments. The Help for Moms and Babies Act will offer women, who are receiving care for a substance use disorder in a treatment facility, the ability to receive prenatal and postpartum services. At least three of the bills provisions were co sponsored by Senator Catherine Cortez Masto.
