DUI Driver Will Serve 10 to 25 Years in Prison

A man who was drunk and driving more than 90 mph when he crashed into a motorcycle with an Ohio couple, causing the motorcycle driver to lose a leg, must serve 10 years to 25 years in prison, the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday. 25 year old Bernardo Ugalde-Torres of Fallon pleaded guilty to felony drunken driving charges and was sentenced Wednesday in Washoe District Court.  The crash happened about 1:30 a.m. June 17th, 2015, on Interstate 80 near the Mustang exit. The Hyundai Ugalde-Torres drove at more than 90 mph hit a motorcycle pulling a trailer driven by a 62-year-old Ohio man, who had his wife as a passenger. Both on the motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries.
