Missing Hiker’s Body Found in Alpine County

The search for a missing hiker ended Saturday in Alpine County when his body was found at the base of a cliff. The search for Bradford Dozier began September 28 when he was reported missing. Officials used dozens of searchers, dogs and helicopters. The sheriff’s office said he fell about 200 feet after attempting to free climb the north side of a mountain peak. About 140 searchers were involved on Saturday. Search volunteers came from as far away as San Diego. Military personnel, the Civil Air Patrol, the California National Guard and the California Highway Patrol also assisted.
