As attention has shifted to the opioid epidemic, methamphetamine use is surging again. Amphetamine related hospitalizations jumped 245% between 2008 and 2015. Over the same period opioid hospitalizations grew only 46%. In some states, such as Texas and Colorado, overdose deaths from meth have surpassed those from heroin.
