Shoppers jammed stores and kept online retailers busy over the Thanksgiving weekend and Cyber Monday to take advantage of deals and discounts, as the holiday shopping season entered its final month. In the Silver State, the Retail Association of Nevada (RAN) estimates that over 1.5 million people spent a total of $475.9 million on gifts, decorations and other merchandise over the five-day period. Brian Wachter of the Retail Association says they’re set for another year of strong holiday spending in the Silver State as unemployment is down and wages are climbing.
