More solar plants are being built in Nevada. The state public utilities commission has approved NV Energy’s plan to build six solar projects and close one of the state’s final two coal fire plants by 2021. The new plants will double the state’s renewable energy capacity and solar production by 2023. The utility admits the cost of the new plants could lead to requests for future rate increases.
