U.S. Navy Extends Public Comment Period For Fallon Range Expansion

The U.S. Navy has extended the public review and comment period by an additional 30 days, for the Fallon Range Training Complex Modernization Draft Environmental Impact Statement. The Navy is looking to triple the size of the facility by adding 900 square miles of public lands and 100 square miles of private lands to the existing facility. They say more land is needed to improve training because the Navy has changed its tactics. Aviators now release weapons higher and farther from their target, thus the need for more room. All written comments must be postmarked or received online by Feb. 14th. More information at FRTCModernization.com.
