Silver Springs Man Found Guilty of Assault With a Deadly Weapon

A Silver Springs man has been found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon for an incident involving threats against law enforcement. A Yerington jury found Florencio Brito guilty on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and not guilty of one more count. May 2nd, police responded to a domestic battery report in Silver Springs. Brito had made threats to kill those who lived at the property with a screwdriver, then threatened to harm police. Then he ran to a car and tried to run over a deputy sheriff, and crashed into the vehicle of another. He faces at least 12 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
