Washoe County D.A. Chris Hicks and Douglas County District Attorney Mark Jackson will personally lead the prosecution of Wilbur Martinez Guzman on four counts of murder and the case would be tried in Washoe County. The prosecutors caution there is little more they can say about the case. Hicks says it’s too early to decide if the prosecution will be a death penalty case, but they are taking a strong look at it.  They also say they still believe Martinez- Guzman committed these crimes alone, and it appears that Martinez Guzman burglarized the property of some of the victims, before returning later to commit murder. Two people were killed near Gardnerville, and a couple was killed a few days later in South Reno.
