SOC: Reno Mayor Will Speak When the President Does

Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve is set to deliver her fourth State of the City address Tuesday, February 5th, at 6 p.m. at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. It’s the same time the President has scheduled the State of the Union Address. Reportedly the Mayor is urging people to tape the State of the Union and watch it later. New this year, each Reno City Council Member will also make a speech. State of the City is free and open to the public. Doors to the Convention Center will open before 4 p.m., when the second annual Community Engagement Fair begins. The Sports Expo is also a new addition this year. The Fair and Expo go from 4 to 6 p.m.
The theme of this year’s State of the City is “Changing the Game in the Biggest Little City.” The fair and address will celebrate sports and recreation and the positive impact they have on our community.
