“EPIC” Report Shows Continued Job And Population Growth in Northern Nevada

Northern Nevada Economic Planning Indicators Committee, also known as “EPIC”, has released their Report 2.0. The forecast for the next 5 years is for continued job growth, with our population expected to increase by more 54,000 in five regions, Douglas, Lyon, Storey, and Washoe, and Carson City. That means we’ll make the jump from a little more than 632,000 residents and 406,000 jobs to almost 687,000 and over 458,000 jobs by 2023. Housing remains a serious concern. The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada says we’re almost 1,500 shorts on building permits for residential housing where we should be, and that factor continues to drive housing prices up.
