School District Working With The Legislature on Digital Days Plan

The Washoe County School District has issued a statement in light of the recent Digital Days pull back. They’ve met with reps from the Nevada Department of Education earlier this week, and are now working in partnership with the Nevada State Legislature on possible changes to the law that will clarify what equates to a school day on inclement weather days. WCSD is working on a proposal now for a pilot program that can hopefully be put in place for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year. A January 4th memo from the outgoing Nevada Superintendent of Instruction said the district’s Digital Days plan to meet daily attendance requirements was against state law.
