Nevada lawmakers are considering skirting the electoral college, and awarding the state’s electoral votes to whomever is the popular vote winner in a Presidential election. 13 states have already joined the so called “popular vote” movement. Supporters say this is the only way to make every vote count, and make sure that the person with the most votes becomes President. But people who reject the idea say small states that join in, lose clout as campaigns would then shift from battleground states to those with large populations. A similar bill stalled in committee during the last session.
