You’ve heard the phrase, “Use a gun, go to prison.” The Nevada legislature is now looking at a bill that would increase prison time for using a gun, tear gas or other weapon as part of a crime. Under a proposed bill by Senator Ben Kieckhefer the prison term for the gun, would match the prison term for the crime. That means a 20 year robbery sentence would add an additional 20  years for the use of the gun. That bill is SB 144.
