Galena High School athletes, unhappy about the dismissal of football coach Hank Roberts, have started a petition drive to urge the school to reinstate him. The district does not routinely discuss personnel issues, and hasn’t offered an explanation for the coach’s firing. Reportedly about 100 athletes have signed the petition. They say no one asked them what they thought about the coach. Roberts says he was blind sided by the dismissal.
