The Sparks Police Department has arrested a juvenile after an attempted robbery Wednesday night. Police say the suspect, wearing a mask, went into the ‘Around The Corner Liquor Mart’ at 790 N. McCarran Blvd. about 9:05 p.m. and pulled out a black handgun to rob the business. He pointed the gun at an employee and demanded cigarettes and money, but left the store without either. Police got surveillance video of the suspect before he put on the mask and distributed still photos to Washoe County School District police and juvenile probation officers. That led to identification of the suspect, he was booked into the juvenile detention facility on charges of attempted robbery and burglary.
