Bill Would Have The Nevada Legislature Meet Every Year Instead of Every Two Years

The often introduced bill that would make the Nevada legislature meet every year, instead of every other year is being considered. Currently the legislature meets for 120 days every two years, this bill would make it 60 days in even numbered years, and 90 in odd numbered years, A fiscal note on the bill says it would cost and extra 13.3 million to make the change. This would have to be approved by voters because it changes the state constitution if it wins legislative approval. The proposal is Senate Joint Resolution 5.
