List of Reno Priests Accused of Child Sex Abuse Released, Includes Robert Bowling

The Catholic Diocese of Reno has released a list of priests “Credibly accused” of the sexual abuse of minors. Bishop Randolph Calvo said in a release, “I asked the Diocesan Review Board to review clergy files because I decided, as a measure of transparency and accountability, to make public the names of clergy and religious who have been credibly accused of sexually abusing minors.” The credibility of the accusations were based on: corroborating evidence; criminal prosecution, or admission of guilt by the accused. The list includes 12 priests, 11 of whom are deceased. The only living person on the list is Eugene Braun, who was defrocked. The accused diocesan priests who formally belonged to the Diocese of Reno and listed under the technical term “Incardinated” include: Robert Anderson, Edmund Boyle, Robert Despars, William Duff, Florence Flahive, and Harold Vieages. Accused Priests who served temporarily in Reno are Carmelo Baltazar and Timothy Ryan as well as David Brusky, Stuart Campbell, and Robert Bowling, who was accused in Louisville.
