The Nevada State Fire Marshal is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who intentionally started a recent fire in Fernley. This happened around 1:30 a.m. March 12th. Security cameras recorded the man at the City of Fernley Shop and Garage at the Out of Town Park. The State Fire Marshal says the man was seen entering the property by climbing over a fence. He remained there until smoke became visible from one of the security cameras. A short time later, the footage shows the smoke appears to lessen, then the man re-enters the property. Moments later, heavy smoke is seen before the man leaves between 2:35 a.m. and 2:40 a.m. The man may have a tattoo on the right side of his neck and a star tattoo on the front of his right waistline.
