Plans for an animal rescue facility for lions and other large cats near Yerington have been dropped. The Oregon based owner has dropped her plans to relocate to Nevada after the Lyon County Planning Commission denied a conditional use permit. The Lyon County Board of Commissioners was scheduled to make a final decision on a permit at a May 2 meeting. But Ringo says she no longer wants to move to Nevada. Planners denied the permit pending input from state and local agencies on public health and safety related to the plan.
