Minimum Wage Bill Gets a Hearing Today at the Nevada Legislature

AB-456 gets it’s first hearing before a legislative panel today. That’s the bill that would raise Nevada’s minimum wage. The last minimum wage increase was vetoed in 2017 by then Governor Brian Sandoval. The latest proposal would raise the minimum wage to $12 an hour for workers not offered health insurance and $11 an hour for employees who are. Wages would increase 75 cents per year until it reaches those levels. The current minimum wage is $7.25 an hour for workers offered health benefits and a dollar more for those who aren’t.
