The Sparks Police Department believes someone used a skimming device to steal debit card numbers and illegally take money out of two bank accounts. Both illegal withdrawals happened at a bank in the 5200 block of Vista Boulevard in Spanish Springs. Police did not indicate where they thought the skimming device was set up. The first victim reported the fraudulent bank charges on February 9th. Police say a man made two fraudulent ATM withdrawals on Feb. 8. The second victim reported that on Feb. 19 someone made two withdrawals from her account using the ATM machine. Police believe both withdrawals were made the by the same suspect.
