A second Nevada court has denied an appeal from convicted murderer and death row inmate James Biela. Biela was convicted in the January 2008 kidnapping and murder of college student Brianna Denison. Biela abducted her as she slept on a friend’s couch near the University of Nevada campus. Her body was found in a south Reno field a month later. Biela was also convicted of sexually assaulting two other women in the months before Briana Denison disappeared. The court ruled Biela offered no evidence that his lawyers could have presented to undermine the DNA evidence that linked him to the crime.
