Officer-Involved Shooting in Sparks Under Investigation

A Sparks Police officer shot a man last night after responding to a home on a domestic battery call. Around 7:00 p.m. Sparks Police officers responded to Abbay Way and 4th Street. According to police, the officer-involved shooting happened after the man came out of the house. It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting. The regional officer-involved shooting protocol has been enacted, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency. According to police, officers were called to the same house earlier in the day after a family member reported the man was suicidal. There is no word on the suspect’s condition at this time.
