Lawyers For Wilbur Martinez-Guzman Asking For Dismissal

Lawyers for Wilbur Martinez-Guzman, the illegal immigrant accused of killing four people in Northern Nevada, have filed a motion to dismiss the case. The defense claims there’s insufficient evidence. They also question whether it’s appropriate for a Washoe County grand jury to indict someone for crimes that took place in another county. Martinez-Guzman has pleaded not guilty to murdering four people in Reno and Gardnerville in January, as well as burglary and possession of stolen weapons. At arraignment, Martinez-Guzman was given a trial date of April 6, 2020. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
