The Las Vegas City Council will take up the issue of marijuana consumption lounges Wednesday. An earlier measure was defeated in March, with council members saying this needed more study. The proposed ordinance, would allow licensed dispensaries to open on-site lounges. Currently, people can legally buy marijuana, but are only allowed to use it in their own homes. Councilman Bob Coffin’s measure would still ban outdoor smoking, and would force businesses to create an air-control plan to keep marijuana fumes from drifting outside. It would also ban the sale of alcohol.
