Three hospitals in Reno and Sparks held a drill to prepare for a public health or health care emergency in Washoe County. The Inter-Hospital Coordinating Council Exercise took place at Renown Regional Medical Center, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Northern Nevada Medical Center. The drill was to test hospitals’ ability to respond to a catastrophic earthquake resulting in a mass evacuation of residents, causing a long-term hospital surge in the Reno-Sparks area.
