Nevada Legislature Has Approved Joining The “Popular Vote Movement”

The Nevada legislature has approved joining the “Popular Vote Movement.” It would award the state’s six electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote. This would not go into effect until enough states join the compact, to reach the 270 electoral votes needed to win the Presidency. Supporters say it will mean that every republican vote in places like California and Massachusetts will matter, like every democratic vote would matter in Utah and Idaho. Critics say this will allow candidates to ignore small states, and only campaign in the big states with the most votes.
