A lawsuit against Storey County Sheriff Gerald Antinoro will receive a jury trial.  Filed nearly two years ago, the suit claims Sheriff Antinoro sexually harassed former Chief Deputy Melanie Keener at a conference in July 2015. Keener adds Antinoro then retaliated against her by transferring her out of the department. U.S. District Court Judge Robert Jones dismissed the sexual harassment claims for procedural reasons, but ruled that the majority of the claims – including a civil rights violation – would proceed to trial. More than 10 formal complaints have been filed against Antinoro since he took office. The trial date is yet to be determined.
