BLM Conducting Mormon Cricket Spraying on 4,000 Acres of Land

The Bureau of Land Management, Winnemucca District is working with the USDA Plant Protection and Quarantine program, to spray insecticide on Mormon crickets on about 4,000 acres of land managed by the BLM. The areas identified for treatment are at the base of the Sonoma Range southeast of Winnemucca from Harmony Canyon to Thomas Canyon, and the north end of the East Range near Rose Creek. BLM says there will be no spraying within the Water Canyon Recreation Area or within 500 feet of water.
