The Washoe County School District’s Board of Trustees approved a revised sex ed curriculum for High School students at last night’s meeting. The district says the curriculum uses scientific information to modernize sex education, and is more inclusive for LBGTQ students. The proposed changes focus on consent, sexual assault, harassment, and tech safety. Some parents at the meeting say it goes too far. A section of the curriculum on sexual orientation and identity is being referred back to committee for reconsideration.
