Sparks Crews Knock Down Fire at Recycling Facility

The Sparks Fire Department responded to a fire at a metal recycling facility Monday afternoon, on the 1600 block of Franklin Way. A large pile of scrap metal was on fire on the lot. The fire was quickly extinguished with no reported injuries or damage to structures. Seventeen fire personnel were on scene. REMSA responded to evaluate the employees for possible smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is undetermined and the recycling facility is back in full operation.
