Landmark Bill Signings Today by Nevada’s Governor

Today, Governor Steve Sisolak will hold signing ceremonies in his Carson City office for several landmark bills from the 2019 legislative session. Senate Bill 135 empowers state workers to collectively bargain for the first time in Nevada history. Assembly Bill 456 raises the minimum wage to $12 an hour by 2024, SB312 requires employers to offer employees earned paid leave, and SB166 codifies protections for equal pay. Senate Bill 448 authorizes up to $10 million per year in tax credits for the creation of affordable housing, fulfilling a pledge Gov. Sisolak made in his State of the State address, and Senate Bill 425 expands federal funding the state receives to assist vulnerable populations with affordable housing.
