More Appeals Expected in Wilbur Martinez-Guzman Case

More appeals are expected in the Wilber Ernesto Martinez-Guzman case, the Salvadorian immigrant who’s accused of killing four people in January in Gardnerville and Reno. In the latest round, Martinez-Guzman’s lawyer wanted the crimes in Gardnerville tried in Douglas County, but Washoe County DA Chris Hicks says it’s easy to see why the judge ruled in the prosecution’s favor.

That means, pending more appeals, all three cases will be tried in Washoe County.
