A former Regional Transportation Commission bus driver in uniform took over an RTC bus last night in downtown Reno and drove the route, dropping off and picking up passengers, until police intercepted him in north Reno. The man was taken into custody and will undergo a mental health evaluation. Fewer than a dozen passengers were on the Route 7 bus. There were no injuries in the incident. Why the former bus driver would show up and start driving the bus is still being investigated.
