Accused Killers Lawyers Appeal to Nevada Supreme Court

Wilbur Martinez Guzman’s lawyers are appealing to the Nevada supreme court, to overturn a Reno judge’s ruling that upheld the grand jury’s authority to indict him on two murder charges from Douglas County. They say the grand jury went beyond its jurisdiction in charging Guzman for the murders of Connie Koontz and Sophia Renken, with the intention of combing the four murder cases in Washoe County. The local judge agreed with prosecutors that Nevada Grand Juries have jurisdiction statewide for felony crimes. Guzman is also accused of the murders of a Reno couple,  Jerry and Sharon David.
