Fire Investigators Say Rattlesnake Fire is Suspicious

Crews have stopped progress of a wildfire burning near Rattlesnake Mountain in southeast Reno. The fire broke out just before 5AM Tuesday. Crews accessed the fire from Alexander Lake Road near Veterans Parkway. Crews will be on scene a few more hours mopping up. Alexander Lake Road was closed, but has since reopened. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported. Investigators say it’s unusual because two fires ended up burning together. They are calling it ‘suspicious’. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Reno Fire Department.
