The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District estimates the Dixie Fire burning in the Red Rock Road area is 80 acres. No homes threatened and progress is being made. Crews worked on the fire overnight to slow the fires spread, and that work continues today. The district responded to seven fires yesterday, all likely started by lightning.
